The conference theme for 2015 was:
"From Rocket Science to Brain Surgery - Aerospace Medicine and the Neurosciences"
The Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ASAM) is the authoritative professional body whose role is to cultivate and promote aerospace medicine and related disciplines in Australasia. Comprising more than 800 members from many fields of medical practice the Society has provided professional development for its members by hosting successful scientific meetings most years.
Dr Gilles Clément presented the John Lane Oration, and Dr John Roberts presented on behalf of the Patterson Trust. A panel session "Complex Case - Would you let this patient fly?" was a highlight, with panelists representing major airlines such as Qantas, Virgin, Air New Zealand, Cathay Pacific and Emirates. Abstracts were presented by a range of qualified professionals, with Iceberg Events managing the Abstract process.
The 2016 ASAM Conference was announced, and is to be held from 15 - 18 September 2016 in Townsville.
