October 2015 - Welcome to Emma, chance to win a night at Hotel Urban Brisbane + more
A very warm welcome to our new team member, Emma Slater! Emma’s role is a new one - Team Support. I thought it was a good idea to have someone looking after the people who are looking after the people, if you know what I mean. Emma’s role is to take some of the general office-y tasks away from the Event Teams and to generally help out where needed - I know that they will be happy about that.
Emma has arrived not a second too soon - we have had a very busy couple of months, leading into the last part of the year which is always packed. In the last couple of months, we’ve managed events at the Gold Coast, Adelaide, Brisbane and Longreach!
One of our most exciting events this quarter was the Healthcare & Social Media Summit for the Mayo Clinic. This was the first event ever run by the Mayo Clinic outside of the US and (being a social media event) had some INCREDIBLE reach for #MayoInOz! The event was trending on Twitter before it even started, which was something of a first for us.
We also celebrated our 10th Birthday for running Networx Marketers Meetings - it’s hard to believe that we have had 100 of those events! We also have a fabulous new Networx Website to show off - pleasecheck it out if you have a moment - we love it.
As we are on the downhill run to the end of the year, it really is time to start thinking about what’s happening "next" year - if you haven’t already, you need to be blocking space for your events in 2016 (or talking to us about it!).
We've been busy

Iceberg Travel After-work Drinks is a series of networking evenings held once per month for the Brisbane EA / PA and event management community. Our goal is to introduce people to new and exciting venues in the Brisbane area.
In the last few months we have visited the fabulous new Hotel Jen and experienced the hospitality of the beautiful Nest Restaurant. Another evening, the NEXT Hotel gave us the unforgettable experience of enjoying Lennons Restaurant’s tasting menu. We also met the chef, Todd Adams. Just last month, our evening at the Di Bella Coffee Roasting Warehouse was fun and educational, starting with Espresso Martinis by Di Bella and finishing with a tour of the roasting warehouse.
If you would like to know more about the Iceberg Travel events please contact Marie Edwards on 0413 804 467 or email@example.com

A little insight into our new Team Support, Emma Slater!
What do you like about events?
Events are so completely unique to any other industry and offer so many opportunities! What I love about events is that moment during the event you realise all of the hard work was worth it to give your guests the best experience possible. I am so incredibly excited to be starting my career with the lovely ladies at Iceberg Events and am looking forward to all of the amazing opportunities. Thank you Iceberg Events!
What is the best trip you’ve ever taken?
Travel is a massive passion of mine and my recent trip to Europe ensured that I will always be gallivanting around the world whenever possible. Iceland is one of my favourite destinations, the country and people are completely unique and the scenery is breathtaking! England is awesome and full of so much history, Paris has the best food ever and the culture shock of Egypt and Thailand is an experience I will never forget.
Book: How can you go past the Harry Potter series by J.K Rowling
Favourite band: Green Day
Movie: The Harry Potter series of course!
TV show: So many to choose from! I would have to say Game of Thrones though.
