About the Event
The Australasian Society of Aerospace Medicine (ASAM) is the authoritative professional body whose role is to cultivate and promote aerospace medicine and related disciplines in Australasia. Comprising more than 800 members from many fields of medical practice the Society has provided professional development for its members by hosting successful scientific meetings most years.
The focus for the 2010 ASAM Scientific Meeting was on cardiology with the theme 'The Heart of the Nation'. Dr Andrei Catanchin from the Perth Cardiovascular Institute spoke as the John Lane Orator and Professor Rod Jackson from the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at University of Auckland spoke as the Patterson Trust speaker.
The Welcome Reception was held at the National Portrait Gallery and the Conference Gala Dinner was held at the Australian War Memorial.
