The Iceberg Events team: Jasmine Russell, Emma Tooth, Jodie Parker and Lisa Ma.
Iceberg Events was established in 1996 by Jodie Parker. Jodie gave herself two years to make a go of it - fourteen years ago...
In that time, Iceberg Events has put together many fantastic conferences, conventions, symposia, trade shows and exhibitions, meetings and seminars all over Australia and overseas. You can be assured of working with professional and experienced staff who can meet any challenge you care to throw at them.
We love running events in new and exciting places and venues - that's what keeps it interesting! We believe that organising events should be fun - and we'd like to keep it that way!

- Iceberg Events was recently accredited as an Certified Event Company with the Professional Conference Organisers (PCO) Association.

Jodie Parker
Managing Director
Jodie Parker is a Professional Conference Organiser (PCO), specialising in conference and event management. Jodie started Iceberg Events in 1996. She was 24 years old. Jodie is passionate about working closely with the client so the whole process is stress-free, fun and professional. She has a wealth of experience from working with corporate companies, franchisees, sporting groups, education, government and associations.
More about Jodie Parker's role at Iceberg Events:
- Jodie project manages the event from start to finish - from options and budgets to the final report and feedback survey results.
- Jodie meets event enquirers for a coffee and takes the time to find out about their conference or event so she can provide free no-obligation proposals (including draft budget).
- Jodie has her own Conference & Event Management Blog where she loves providing free advice, tips and commentary.
- She also writes Conference and Event Articles in her spare time. She's written event articles on topics such as running franchisee or group conferences and what event managers do.
- Jodie is also manages and facilitates the monthly Networx Marketers Meetings in Brisbane - that Iceberg Events manage. They are monthly fun, relaxed networking events for professionals in marketing, advertising, pr, creative industries and business.

- Jodie is an accredited Certified Events Manager with the Professional Conference Organisers (PCO) Association.
- Jodie is an Accredited Summit (Event Management Software) user.
Education/Past Work Experience:
- After completing two degrees (B.A. from The University of Queensland, and a B.Bus - HRM from QUT), she began her career at the Australian Quality Council (AQC). Her position at the AQC evolved into Events Coordinator - doing the administration for the many breakfasts, gala dinners and short courses that the AQC ran.
- Jodie enjoyed the organisational side of her job at the AQC, and decided to go it on her own. Thirteen years later, Iceberg Events has moved to larger office premises and employs several staff.
Personal:
- Jodie especially loves (in no particular order) her business, cycling to and from work, her son, Max, and Max's dad, Ben. Jodie and Ben were married on Daydream Island - what an event!
- Jodie's star sign is Sagittarius!

Emma Tooth
Event Coordinator
Emma Tooth’s position as Event Coordinator at Iceberg Events involves coordinating event logistics, liaising with and assisting, clients, sponsors and delegates, and working to ensure that your event is outstanding! She started working at Iceberg Events in March 2008 and loves the excitement of organising all aspects of events both big and small.

- Emma works closely with Jodie Parker on the project management of the conference or event and the client - she helps make things happen!
- Emma manages the sponsors/exhibitors and speakers, confirming their involvement and following up on their requirements.
- Emma manages the sponsors/exibitors onsite of the conference and ensures that everything runs smoothly.
- Emma attends the committee planning meetings and does the note taking with action items.
- Emma also looks after the email marketing content and email broadcast scheduling.
Professional Affiliation:
- Emma is a member of the Professional Conference Organisers (PCO) Association and is working towards gaining her Certified Events Manager accreditation.
Education/Personal:
- Emma was born in Sydney but grew up in the tropical far-north Queensland city of Cairns.
- On completing high school she moved to Brisbane to study a Bachelor of Communications at Griffith University followed by a Post Graduate Diploma of Business majoring in International Event Management.
- Emma’s favourite things are shoe shopping, dancing and musicals. She also loves socialising with friends, skiing and curling up in front of a good movie.
- Emma’s star sign is Libra!

Lisa Ma
Graphic Designer
Lisa Ma started work at Iceberg Events in early 2003 and enjoys being part of a fun and dynamic team! Her role at Iceberg Events has evolved and she is currently a Graphic Designer for Iceberg Events and Event Coordinator for Networx Brisbane events. Lisa enjoys providing the best customer service to clients and guests with a positive attitude, friendly personality, commitment and a smile.

- Secretariat and Event Coordinator for the Brisbane Junior Chamber of Commerce (BJCC) 2003-2004.
- Queensland Secretariat and Event Coordinator for the Mortgage and Finance Association of Australia (MFAA) 2003-2008.
Education/Personal:
- Lisa grew up in Boonah, a beautiful country town in south-east Queensland.
- Lisa did her schooling at Ipswich Girls' Grammar School and completed her Bachelor of Arts degree at Griffith University (Nathan Campus), whilst working in hospitality.
- Lisa loves going to the cinema, musicals and stage productions and some of her best memories were going to Broadway in New York and the shows in Las Vegas. Favourite hang-outs in Brisbane are West End, South Bank and Milton.
- When Lisa is not working, she plays Mum to her two doggies, Bella and Jett.
- Lisa's starsign is Scorpio!

Jasmine Russell
Event Assistant
Jasmine Russell’s role as Event Assistant sees her supporting the Iceberg Events team. She enjoys assisting delegates with their registrations and their requirements over the phone, and also enjoys meeting and greeting delegates at registration. Jasmine’s passions of organising, meeting new people, and having fun have found the perfect home with the Iceberg Events team.

- Jasmine assists onsite at conference and events with her happy and personable approach.

Education/Personal:
- Jasmine is originally from Western Australia, but has lived in Brisbane for the past seven years. She attended St Peters Lutheran College, where she won the Queensland Work Experience Award for her role in coordinating and managing a number of Tourism Conferences.
- Jasmine’s work experience gave her a love of event management, and after leaving school she commenced a Bachelor of International Hotel and Tourism Management, majoring in Event Management at University of Queensland. She is currently completing her degree part-time.
- Jasmine loves to travel and has just returned from a trip to Venice where she participated in and supported a range of events for Carnivale. She also loves snowboarding and attending music festivals (not at the same time!). Closer to home she enjoys good films, socialising with friends and being entertained by her cat Belle.
- Jasmine’s star sign is Aries!
